This may sound stupid, but it my head it makes sense and I can't see why it wouldn't work. I have really dark hair that doesn't take well to bleach so I can't dye a colour into my bangs. So basically, if you make the coloured extension piece peekaboo in the bangs the way the colour is in this picture http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t77/t... can it work?

You sure can. My friend Kyle has dark hair and bright blue extensions in it for color.

Most likely, it would work.
And your hair could take well to bleach, it would just have to be in a lot longer depending on how dark your hair color really is. My friend had real black hair, and left it in for about an hour, and it turned a darkish blonde, enough to dye over.
